About Namma Smaraka

Why Namma Smaraka?

Namma Smaraka is an initiative by the Department of Archeology, Museums, and Heritage in Karnataka under the ‘Adopt a Monument’ scheme. This initiative aims to highlight Karnataka’s rich cultural and historical heritage, fitting perfectly with the state’s brand promise, “One State, Many Worlds.” With 4 UNESCO sites, 844 state-protected monuments, and over 500+ ASI-protected monuments, Karnataka also truly offers “One State, Many Monuments.”

Currently, Karnataka attracts around 23 crore domestic visitors and over 6 lakh foreign tourists each year. Namma Smaraka can help increase these numbers, creating more local jobs, boosting businesses, and generating more revenue for the state.
